The Broncos treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick No. 197 on Howard Cross III a full 24 spots early.

The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
