When a board-topper like Donovan Edwards slides to the 226th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Chiefs did not.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Conner left real value on the table behind him.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
