Draft Grade — Commanders

FutureB-
The Commanders kept it disciplined and banked a B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Commanders walked out of the weekend still thin at tight end, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. No fireworks, but a solid B.
On value alone, Ersery makes the weekend a net positive. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In No. 29 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 29 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick128
Rnd4
Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205
Rnd6
Woody Marks
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Woody Marks at slot 205 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick245
Rnd7
Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks is a better player than pick No. 245 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
