You can draft well and still miss the point. The Seahawks did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Hampton at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The cost of the Colby reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
