Slaughter should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a C+.

Call it larceny. Jake Slaughter sat on the board until slot 96, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Daniels proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.

They jumped the gun on Romello Height, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick84 Rnd3 Ted Hurst
Ted Hurst in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick96 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
Somehow Jake Slaughter was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 32, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick120 Rnd4 Kaleb Proctor
Kaleb Proctor in the 120th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick160 Rnd5 Charles Demmings
Charles Demmings slid further than he should have, and the 160th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick189 Rnd6 Seth McGowan
A tidy little value on Seth McGowan in pick 189, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick201 Rnd6 Kaelon Black
They went early on Kaelon Black in pick No. 201, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A big swing on Jalon Daniels at slot 236, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
