Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureD
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Drew Kendall, taking him 56 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Harris that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
By-the-book stuff, Walter Nolen at the Round 1 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick34
Rnd2
Mike Green
They did well to land Mike Green in the 34th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick55
Rnd2
Trey Amos
Trey Amos at pick No. 55 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick72
Rnd3
Tre Harris
Tre Harris slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 8 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick86
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant at No. 86 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. in slot 124 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick159
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
Value said wait; Willie Lampkin in the Round 5 slot says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick198
Rnd6
Caleb Ransaw
A reach on Caleb Ransaw in slot 198; the board had better options right there. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick237
Rnd7
Drew Kendall
Drew Kendall at the 237th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
