FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Nix in the fold, and a B- for the Giants. The Giants spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Thrash. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In pick 5 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick57
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in the 57th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick67
Rnd3
Blake Corum
They took Blake Corum at par in pick No. 67, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick103
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at the 103rd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick140
Rnd5
Tyler Guyton
Nothing to complain about; Tyler Guyton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick148
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
By-the-book stuff, Malachi Moore at Round 5, Pick 12 squarely in line with his ranking. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
Pick181
Rnd6
Jamari Thrash
Circle this one: Jamari Thrash at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189
Rnd6
Nelson Ceaser
Nelson Ceaser at slot 189 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
