Nobody had Fadil Diggs this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 53 spots to get him at pick 184.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. McMillan at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
