Draft Grade — Ravens

FutureC+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Ravens to a D-. The Ravens looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Phillip Webb at the 231st pick regardless, 121 picks early.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Henderson to cover a lot of smaller sins.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
A wild overpay on Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 33rd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick50
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
They paid sticker price for Alfred Collins in slot 50, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick52
Rnd2
Wyatt Milum
A premium they did not need to pay, Wyatt Milum a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick66
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and TreVeyon Henderson at No. 66 is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick69
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
They jumped the gun on Andrew Mukuba, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick79
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the Round 3 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick94
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
They let Ozzy Trapilo come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick136
Rnd4
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 136 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick137
Rnd4
Oronde Gadsden II
A big swing on Oronde Gadsden II at slot 137, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick144
Rnd5
Andres Borregales
A reach for Andres Borregales in pick 144; a little patience would have been rewarded. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick169
Rnd5
CJ West
A real head-scratcher, CJ West in the 169th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick183
Rnd6
Clay Webb
Clay Webb at the 183rd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick224
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in Round 7, Pick 8 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick231
Rnd7
Phillip Webb
They reached a country mile for Phillip Webb at pick No. 231, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
