A sensible, unshowy class lands the Jets a B.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Jets left cornerback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Egbuka. Barrow Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In Round 1, Pick 7 they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka slid further than he should have, and pick 42 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Nothing to complain about; Jack Bech went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Will Howard
Will Howard is a better player than pick No. 110 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick145 Rnd5 Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo at slot 145 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162 Rnd5 Jake Briningstool
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jake Briningstool. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick186 Rnd6 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207 Rnd6 Simeon Barrow Jr.
They paid a round early for Simeon Barrow Jr. in the 207th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
