Draft Grade — Packers

The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Lathan Ransom, the No. 103 name on the board, sitting there at the 124th pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Every board in the league had Porter lower, and that gap is the story.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In pick 23 they get a cornerstone up front, though they paid up to get him.
Pick54
Rnd2
Darien Porter
Darien Porter at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick87
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild in slot 87 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick124
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom in pick No. 124 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick159
Rnd5
Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron at the 159th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick198
Rnd6
Woody Marks
Woody Marks at the 198th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick237
Rnd7
CJ Dippre
No edge and no loss on CJ Dippre in Round 7, Pick 21; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick250
Rnd7
Sam Brown Jr.
They did well to land Sam Brown Jr. in the Round 7 slot, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
