The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on Walker: D. The Raiders lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. It grades a D, and the process earned it.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bassa pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher and tight end.
They will need Thornton Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Getting Walker where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
