The Bengals let Dixon fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bengals shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Barner has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Dixon pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
