A respectable, level-headed haul for the Patriots: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Josh Simmons, the No. 17 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 38.

If Sorrell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The dealing was even money, start to finish.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
