Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
The 49ers bled value on every deal, hence the D+.

The 49ers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Roberts has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They banked enough surplus on Scott to cover a lot of smaller sins. Adding Jordan Addison by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Gennings Dunker
A straight-up fair deal on Gennings Dunker at the 26th pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick59 Rnd2 Jaeden Roberts
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaeden Roberts a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
The board had Keionte Scott higher than the 90th overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick127 Rnd4 Bishop Fitzgerald
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 27, with Bishop Fitzgerald worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jude Bowry
No drama and no debate, Jude Bowry went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick138 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
They did well to land Parker Brailsford in No. 138, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick171 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
They paid sticker price for Kevin Coleman Jr. in pick 171, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
