FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the 49ers. The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Oscar Delp went at pick 133, a good 43 picks before the board was ready. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Getting York where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get an anchor for the defensive front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58
Rnd2
Austin Siereveld
They jumped the gun on Austin Siereveld, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92
Rnd3
Taurean York
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Taurean York at pick 92. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jaishawn Barham
A reach on Jaishawn Barham in the Round 4 slot; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick127
Rnd4
Logan Jones
No drama and no debate, Logan Jones went about where he belonged in the 127th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick131
Rnd4
Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge in pick No. 131 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick133
Rnd4
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp at pick 133 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
