No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Jaguars.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Jaguars took Sam Hartman a full 106 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots still on the board.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went OLB-EDGE with Javon Solomon while clear needs at interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots sat open.

Blake Fisher in pick 116 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick153 Rnd5 Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman at the 153rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.

Jaylan Ford at the 212th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Taking Johnny Dixon in slot 236 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
