Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bills, and a B- to prove it. The Bills' one glaring miss is linebacker, a need they left exactly as they found it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Morrison pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Tuimoloau falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
They went 2 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Benjamin Morrison
They paid up for Benjamin Morrison at Round 1, Pick 30 when waiting would have done the job. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick56
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau at No. 56 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick62
Rnd2
Elic Ayomanor
No edge and no loss on Elic Ayomanor in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
