Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Dolphins: B-.

The Dolphins clearly saw something nobody else did in Connor Colby, taking him 48 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

On value alone, Restrepo makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the Round 1 slot they get an enforcer at safety. Need was not the driver here.
Pick48 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in the 48th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick98 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord at pick 98 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick116 Rnd4 Chimere Dike
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Chimere Dike in slot 116. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick135 Rnd4 Connor Colby
Connor Colby in Round 4, Pick 33 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick150 Rnd5 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo at pick No. 150 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick155 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Circle this one: Cody Simon at the 155th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick224 Rnd7 Woody Marks
Woody Marks in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick231 Rnd7 Simeon Barrow Jr.
Simeon Barrow Jr. in pick No. 231 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Thomas Fidone II
Fair-plus on Thomas Fidone II, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
