redjet04 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Bowman Jr. from sliding. Grade: B-. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Billy Bowman Jr., the 137th overall pick, roughly 25 picks past where he belonged. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. If Frazier pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In slot 18 they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
They paid sticker price for Harold Fannin Jr. in the 50th pick, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick52
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at pick No. 82 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92
Rnd3
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at No. 92 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
Taking Billy Bowman Jr. in the 137th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick172
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in Round 5, Pick 34 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
By-the-book stuff, Jack Nelson at pick 175 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick223
Rnd7
Luke Elzinga
Value with a capital V on Luke Elzinga in slot 223, a genuine coup. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick234
Rnd7
Bilhal Kone
Fair-plus on Bilhal Kone, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor need, but a need all the same.
