The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Kyle Monangai slide 40 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

Reaching for Gadsden II left real value on the table behind him. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
