Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Jaguars turned the phones into found money: B.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Jaguars were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The cost of the Taylor III reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Adding Ted Karras by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In the 18th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
They liked Kamren Kinchens enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 48. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Leonard Taylor III. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick96 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
They did well to land Bucky Irving in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick117 Rnd4 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at the 117th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick152 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
A premium they did not need to pay, Javion Cohen a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick195 Rnd6 Erick All
Erick All in slot 195 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick211 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
The board had cheaper options than Jaylen Harrell at Round 6, Pick 36, and it noticed. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick234 Rnd7 LaDarius Henderson
A reach on LaDarius Henderson in pick 234; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
