The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on Price: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Jadarian Price, the No. 60 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 90th overall pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Lee III pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and linebacker still on the board.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick45
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
A reasonable price with a little left over, Olaivavega Ioane in pick No. 45. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick49
Rnd2
Kamari Ramsey
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kamari Ramsey at slot 49. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75
Rnd3
Max Klare
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Klare in No. 75. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick87
Rnd3
Will Lee III
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Will Lee III adds a cornerback and leaves interior defensive lineman and linebacker untouched.
Pick90
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
They barely believed it either: Jadarian Price still on the board at pick 90. It fills a real need, too.
Pick92
Rnd3
Skyler Bell
The board had Skyler Bell higher than the 92nd pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick111
Rnd4
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at Round 4, Pick 11 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick138
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
Nice patience on CJ Daniels, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 38. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick149
Rnd5
Tanner Koziol
A clean, defensible pick in pick 149 with a little surplus value in Tanner Koziol. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick171
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell slipping to pick No. 171 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick194
Rnd6
Miller Moss
Good price on Miller Moss in the 194th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
