The Jets cashed the board's mistake on Shough: B.

Call it larceny. Tyler Shough sat on the board until the 188th pick, and the Jets did not need to be asked twice. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In slot 7 they get an every-down engine for the run game. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in pick 42 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at No. 92 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick109 Rnd4 Chris Paul Jr.
They barely believed it either: Chris Paul Jr. still on the board at pick No. 109. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick146 Rnd5 Ajani Cornelius
The board fumbled Ajani Cornelius all the way to Round 5, Pick 7, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick157 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
You do not let a tight end like Oronde Gadsden II reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick188 Rnd6 Tyler Shough
Taking Tyler Shough in the 188th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick209 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock slid further than he should have, and the 209th pick is lovely value for the safety. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
