Larceny in slot 41 lands the Bears a B, Emmanwori and all. The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Nick Emmanwori, the No. 20 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 2 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In pick No. 10 they get a centerpiece for the ground game. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39
Rnd2
Josh Conerly Jr.
Josh Conerly Jr. at the 39th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick41
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in slot 41, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72
Rnd3
Elijah Arroyo
No drama and no debate, Elijah Arroyo went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick148
Rnd5
Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at the 148th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
