Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jaylin Lane got past him. The Bears do not have to explain a thing at No. 148. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Buchanan reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
