Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent No. 64 on Monroe Freeling, a name the board had a full 41 spots lower. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The Perkins Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The phones were where this weekend was really won. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
