The 49ers spent real capital to be 37 picks early on Jalen Thompson, and the board is going to hold them to it. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Delp to cover a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
