Grand theft in the 102nd pick: the Raiders steal Washington and grade out a A. The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: A'Mauri Washington, the No. 38 name on the board, in pick No. 102.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The CeeDee Lamb deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In the end it comes back to Leonard Moore, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Damon Wilson II
In the 12th pick they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick20
Rnd1
Leonard Moore
In pick No. 20 they get an island corner, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick36
Rnd2
Ahmad Hardy
Nice patience on Ahmad Hardy, who had no business lasting to slot 36. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick67
Rnd3
Will Echoles
Somehow Will Echoles was still sitting there in pick 67, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102
Rnd4
A'Mauri Washington
The board fumbled A'Mauri Washington all the way to the 102nd overall pick, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117
Rnd4
Evan Tengesdahl
Evan Tengesdahl in No. 117 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick134
Rnd4
Shadre Hurst
Shadre Hurst in Round 4, Pick 34 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick174
Rnd5
Demond Williams Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Demond Williams Jr. at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick180
Rnd6
Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie at slot 180 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick183
Rnd6
Cayden Lee
A tidy little value on Cayden Lee in the 183rd pick, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219
Rnd7
Jackson Bennee
Taking Jackson Bennee in pick 219 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It fits a board better than it fits this team.
