Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureA
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Dolphins a B+.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Dolphins started one anyway for Thor Griffith, 63 picks ahead of schedule. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

On value alone, Sanders makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in the 33rd pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick48 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at pick 48 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick94 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Andrew Mukuba graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick98 Rnd3 Anthony Belton
A premium they did not need to pay, Anthony Belton a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick116 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at No. 116 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick129 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
They read the board right and Jacob Parrish was the payoff at pick No. 129. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick135 Rnd4 Kyle McCord
Value with a capital V on Kyle McCord in the 135th overall pick, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick155 Rnd5 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at Round 5, Pick 17 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick224 Rnd7 Raheim Sanders
They robbed the room for Raheim Sanders here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick231 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in the 231st pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
