Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Vikings spent pick No. 255 on Justin Walley, a name the board had a full 59 spots lower. The process wobbled, and the D+ is where it lands.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Slater pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
