Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Lions spent slot 251 on Storm Duck, a name most had 73 spots down the list. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The Coleman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Somehow Christian Jones was still sitting there in slot 208, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick251 Rnd7 Storm Duck
A wild overpay on Storm Duck in Round 7, Pick 31, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
