Ian's pole DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Lachey: B. When a board-topper like Luke Lachey slides to pick No. 233, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting Burch proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the 10th overall pick they get an every-down engine for the run game. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 39th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at pick 41 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jordan Burch
They liked Jordan Burch enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 72. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick148
Rnd5
Logan Brown
No drama and no debate, Logan Brown went about where he belonged in pick No. 148. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick233
Rnd7
Luke Lachey
The board fumbled Luke Lachey all the way to slot 233, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick240
Rnd7
Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
