Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tez Johnson got past him. The Bears do not have to explain a thing at pick 148.

The cost of the Martin reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
