Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall F
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureF
The Seahawks bet the future on Penix Jr.. The board says F.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Seahawks, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

Michael Penix Jr. gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Michael Penix Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick16 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 16 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Worthy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick41 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
They took J.J. McCarthy at par in slot 41, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick54 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
You do not let a cornerback like Terrion Arnold reach pick 54 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick63 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 31 is lovely value for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
