The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: Malaki Starks, the No. 27 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 2 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They are betting Mbow proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
