Draft Grade — Lions
Overall

The Lions checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. Nobody else had Dominique Hampton anywhere near No. 201. The Lions did, by 34 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Darius Robinson
In pick 29 they get a bendy edge with upside, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil in the 61st overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick73
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at No. 73 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick164
Rnd5
Jha'Quan Jackson
A reach on Jha'Quan Jackson in Round 5, Pick 28; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick201
Rnd6
Dominique Hampton
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dominique Hampton. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick205
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
A premium they did not need to pay, Garret Greenfield a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick249
Rnd7
De'Corian Clark
A swing that ignored the value entirely, De'Corian Clark well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
