Draft Grade — Lions
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Lions for Klare: A-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Max Klare got past him. The Lions do not have to explain a thing at the 91st pick.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Trevor Penning deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Arvell Reese and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 26th pick they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick50 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
The board had Olaivavega Ioane higher than the 50th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick91 Rnd3 Max Klare
Steal is underselling it; Max Klare at pick No. 91 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick118 Rnd4 Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick155 Rnd5 Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes at Round 5, Pick 17 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick186 Rnd6 Bud Clark
Bud Clark in pick 186 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203 Rnd6 Nolan Rucci
They paid sticker price for Nolan Rucci in No. 203, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jordan White
Jordan White in slot 212 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick222 Rnd7 J. Michael Sturdivant
J. Michael Sturdivant in No. 222 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
