Noel should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a C.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bears watched Jaylin Noel slide 179 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a C and check back in two years.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
