Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bengals checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Nobody else had Que Robinson anywhere near the 140th overall pick. The Bengals did, by 113 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Landing Knight Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: tight end settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick 17 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick51 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at slot 51 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick97 Rnd3 Kaleb Johnson
Somehow Kaleb Johnson was still sitting there in No. 97, and they pounced on premier running back value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick118 Rnd4 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in pick No. 118 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick121 Rnd4 Elijah Arroyo
A tight end of that caliber at the 121st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick140 Rnd5 Que Robinson
A real head-scratcher, Que Robinson in the 140th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick172 Rnd5 CJ West
Value said wait; CJ West in the 172nd pick says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
Taking Jeffrey Bassa in the 186th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
They went early on Jack Kiser in pick No. 195, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
Pick211 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
The board fumbled Tyler Cooper all the way to pick 211, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick254 Rnd7 Deion Burks
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Deion Burks. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
