A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a D.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent the Round 6 slot on Tanner McLachlan, a name the board had a full 42 spots lower.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

On value alone, Jones makes the weekend a net positive.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
