The Bears spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jaylen Reed, the No. 179 name on the board, in No. 233.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
