After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The Thompson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The cost of the Wilson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
