Call it larceny. Daijun Edwards sat on the board until pick No. 230, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Jordan Love leading the way. The cost of the Rattler reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
