Jaydin DRAFTING FOR THELions
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Lions
Overall
B-
ValueC+

TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Lions: B-. Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Lions to leave a draft.
Every board in the league had Buchanan lower, and that gap is the story. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Grey Zabel
In pick 28 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Jalen Royals
No drama and no debate, Jalen Royals went about where he belonged in the 60th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick102
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson in pick No. 102 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130
Rnd4
Riley Leonard
Riley Leonard at Round 4, Pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick196
Rnd6
Tyler Cooper
Tyler Cooper at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick228
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
A clean, defensible pick in the 228th pick with a little surplus value in Akili Arnold. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick244
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
A reach on Teddye Buchanan in slot 244; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
