CFBP DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Giants, and a B to prove it. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Giants walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The Burden III steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Alexander reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In pick No. 3 they get a bendy edge with upside. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III is a better player than the 34th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
By-the-book stuff, Tate Ratledge at slot 65 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick99
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the Round 3 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
