Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall

The Chargers cashed the board's mistake on McNeil-Warren: B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Chargers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing McNeil-Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will need Allar to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 1, Pick 26 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick55
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
A clean, defensible pick in the 55th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jake Slaughter. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick86
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board at No. 86. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91
Rnd3
Joe Royer
A straight-up fair deal on Joe Royer at the 91st pick, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick123
Rnd4
Drew Allar
Drew Allar at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202
Rnd6
Nolan Rucci
By-the-book stuff, Nolan Rucci at pick 202 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
