Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB-

FutureB-
The Buccaneers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Buccaneers walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
The Starks pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The back end got a real overhaul.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In No. 19 they get a two-high chess piece, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Pick53
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
No edge and no loss on Azareye'h Thomas in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick84
Rnd3
Jared Ivey
Nothing to complain about; Jared Ivey went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
