hami25 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Seahawks, and a B- to prove it. The Seahawks clearly saw something nobody else did in Emery Jones Jr., taking him 30 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 18th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in the 50th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick52
Rnd2
Carson Schwesinger
A wild overpay on Carson Schwesinger in slot 52, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jared Wilson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jared Wilson this early at Round 3, Pick 18. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92
Rnd3
Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at pick No. 92 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
