A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B-.

Priorities are a choice, and the Seahawks made a strange one, taking Cade Stover at TE-EDGE in the 78th pick with tight end crying out for the pick instead.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The cost of the Gould reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Gore Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
A reach for T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 3; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A tidy little value on Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 26, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick66 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A premium they did not need to pay, Cooper Beebe a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick78 Rnd3 Cade Stover
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Cade Stover at TE-EDGE with tight end open.
Pick81 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus in pick No. 81 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick119 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
They did well to land Sataoa Laumea in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick151 Rnd5 Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould at the 151st pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick194 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at No. 194 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick233 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 233 is lovely value for the running back. It fills a real need, too.
